Sheerin Pavilion Exhibition

Sheerin Pavilion

The Sheerin Pavilion for 2023 Guangzhou Design Week provides an exhibition space for sintered stones. Artificial stones are employed to simulate the natural ones, aiming to present a spatial ambiance of a mined artificial stone canyon. This simulation and representation create a captivating juxtaposition. The systematic design of space, scene, and structure not only presents the unity of form and force, and the connection between behavior and space, but also provides the possibility of recyclability of the exhibition venue. It is a exploration of sustainable exhibition construction.

Transition is a flower exhibition that presents ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, within a contemporary setting. The open layout has no rear wall, so visitors walk freely and view each arrangement from many angles instead of only from the front. Natural sunlight and responsive lighting change through the day, so the space and the living flowers shift continuously. Modular pedestals are three-dimensionally printed from recyclable resin and can be taken apart and reused. The level, barrier-free floor keeps the exhibition open to all visitors.

Hiroshima Peace Song Exhibition

Hiroshima Peace Song

The designer created the design by envisioning how a single droplet of water expands into a cascading waterfall, using the lyrics of the Hiroshima Peace Song. Inspired by principles akin to Japanese Zen, the design is placed on a plain background so that its simplicity yields deeper significance the more one observes it. The English lyrics of the Hiroshima Peace Song, which is sung every year at the end of the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6, are used to symbolize how peace can spread outward.

Vitrine MDS Exhibition

Vitrine MDS

The space was designed as a temporary exhibition inside a store, aiming to present office furniture in a more gallery like and less commercial way. Instead of a formal retail display, the layout allows each piece to be experienced with more attention and clarity. The dark gray interior of the store acts as a contrasting backdrop for a rich selection of almost monochromatic fabrics and finishes. These tones were carefully chosen to highlight the design and details of each piece while keeping the overall composition calm and visually balanced.

Luminous Island Exhibition

Luminous Island

Luminous Island is a light art exhibition held in Penghu, Taiwan. The theme is the ocean world of Penghu in autumn and winter. Thirteen light art installations are inspired by marine creatures. Fiber optics are used to shape a marine kingdom, and mechanical parts allow some lanterns to open and close. Corridors at the entrance and the exit form the feeling of entering and leaving an underwater world. Rust-proof and corrosion-resistant materials protect the lanterns near the sea.
